Amy and her team were incredible to work with for our event we hosted in their private room. The servers were great, the food was amazing and everything came out right on time. They followed the timeline exactly, met every expectation we discussed and were extremely hospitable from start to finish. It made the whole event run smoothly and I’m very grateful for how well they took care of us. Highly recommend!

Great service and atmosphere, but minor consistency issues between locations. Having previously visited The Black Olive in Downtown Johnson City, I decided to check out their location in Elizabethton at 173 Hudson Dr (which is perfectly located just a short pedal off the Tweetsie Trail, making it super convenient if you are out biking). The cleanliness and customer service are absolutely excellent at both spots. Our food was served remarkably fast, and our waitress, Autumn, was incredibly attentive and constantly kept an eye on our table throughout the evening. For our meal, we started with the Calamari as an appetizer. For the main courses, we ordered the Shrimp Scampi, the Spicy Bowtie Chicken, and the Penne with White Clam Sauce. We also ordered some Cannolis to go. Everything tasted great! I also noticed their menu is very accommodating, offering plenty of great gluten-free and vegetarian options. The layout of this restaurant is a huge plus; they have a private dining room which is perfect if you want to host a meeting or group gathering. There is also a small bar area comfortably separated from the main dining room, and an amazing outdoor patio where they had live music playing. The only downside I noticed was a significant difference in both presentation and portion sizes from one location to the other, even though they belong to the same chain. The presentation of the dishes varies quite a bit compared to what we usually get at the downtown spot. Despite that minor consistency issue, the overall experience was fantastic, and the outstanding service made it a wonderful visit.

We went for my grandsons engagement party. We rented a room for privacy. The waiter was great. The food was fine and the price was reasonable

I have a gluten allergy. The Black Olive has gluten-free spaghetti! Not bow tie pasta or spinach pasta but real gluten-free spaghetti. They took my allergy serious and used universal precautions. The sauce was delish which made the spaghetti amazing. I will definitely be back to try the gluten-free pizza!

The Black Olive is hands-down my favorite restaurant. I’ve never had a bad experience here, and the food is consistently amazing. The Chicken Milano with gluten-free pasta is incredible—rich, flavorful, and you’d never know the pasta is gluten free. It’s my go-to every single time. And don’t even get me started on the gluten-free carrot cake… it’s one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, gluten free or not. As someone who needs gluten-free options, it means so much to have a restaurant that not only offers them, but does them right. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is always wonderful, and the food keeps me coming back again and again. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you’re missing out. Total gem. 🍝🥕🍰
