The Black Olive
Reviews
I had such a great experience at Black Olive! The food was delicious, but what really made my visit stand out was the amazing service from Caraline. She was so friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcomed from the moment I sat down. She checked on me often without being overbearing and made sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find service that makes such a positive impression, and Caraline definitely did. I’ll absolutely be back, and I hope I get her as my server again!
A gem right here in our hometown! The food was fresh, flavorful, and everything came out quickly. What really made our visit stand out was the exceptional service from Aolonah. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. Great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere; we'll definitely be back!
This is an exceptionally strange review for me to write, because my experience is SO split. I have been to The Black Olive twice now with my family. The first time I went with my wife for our 10th anniversary, and it was absolutely amazing. I had the salmon, she had the manicotti, and we both decided we absolutely HAD to come back, even though it's a 40min drive from home. If they'd just managed to keep it here, this would be a 5/5 review, no questions what-so-ever. Enter earlier this week. We decided to make the drive back, since we both just really wanted some good Italian. And... they decided to close down the dining room with no warning for the entire WEEK. So... 40min drive one way for nothing. I guess my advice would be definitely go here for good Italian food if you're close enough by that if the drive turns out to be a complete waste, you're not out a big chunk of your evening 'cause they decided they didn't want to work that week. If you have to invest any significant time in the drive, though, either call to make sure they decided to open, or chose somewhere else.
This is a fairly traditional Italian restaurant with a good variety of classics with some other interesting stuff the mix as well. The have the "Black Olive" version of a lot of things, none of which, curiously, actually contain Black Olives. I'd also like to know the story of the Nidiffer on the menu? It's named very differently from everything else and I have a feeling there's a reason for that.
Our waitress Emma was fantastic!! We asked her for her recommendations and they did not disappoint. Everything was absolutely delicious! All of the staff were kind and courteous. We will definitely be back as this was our first time here. If you’re heading to this restaurant ask for Emma.
